Rev D AS9100 Quality Management Systems
Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defence Organisations.
AS9100 is an aerospace standard based on the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements. Previously AS9100 Rev C which was first published in 1997 by SAE International. AS9100 takes the ISO 9001:2105 requirements and integrates them with additional QMS requisites, which are set by the aerospace industry to satisfy quality requirements.
The aim of this standard is to create a single QMS for use within the aerospace industry.
The standard was developed by working group 11 of ISO TC20 and was supported by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG)
The industry has moved toward requiring their subcontractors and supply chain to be AS9100 compliant or certified. Implementing/transition to AS9100 can gain a competitive edge and most importantly add value to your business with improved processes and continuous improvement that is the foundation of ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
The transition deadline is September 15th, 2018 which coincides with ISO 9001:2015.
